So January was a bit of a flop in terms of reading, I only managed to finish one book and I’ve made my way through 60% of the second read of the year. However, I am going into February hopeful about how much reading I can get done, so here is my possibly far too ambitious TBR pile for the year.
1. How Many Letters Are In Goodbye – Yvonne Cassidy
This is one of the ARCs I requested through Netgalley, and so far I am loving it. I am trying to broaden my horizons with reading a little more this year, and this book centres around a runaway struggling to come to terms with her sexuality. I’ve never read a book with a LGBT main character, so this is new to me and I am loving it. There should definitely be more diversity throughout the book world! I’m currently 64% through this book so at the very least I should be able to complete this this month!
2. The Diary of Anne Frank – Anne Frank
I’m heading to Amsterdam this month and one of the places I want to visit is Anne Frank’s house, so is there a more appropriate time to reread this wonderful book? I always feel a little weird reading this book as I don’t think anyone should read another’s diary, whether it allows you to learn about history or not. Having said this, The Diary of Anne Frank is one of my favourite books of all time.
3. A Court of Thorns and Roses – Sarah J Maas
I don’t think I’ve mentioned enough my love of Sarah J Maas’s writing before, have I(sarcasm)? It’s been too long since I finished the latest instalment of the Throne of Glass series, and with it almost being the release date of the second instalment of this series, I think it’s about time delve into this world. I can’t explain how excited I am to read this!
4. Allegiant – Veronica Roth
It’s about time that I finally finish the Divergent trilogy. It’s no secret that I’m not the biggest Divergent fan but I’m aware of the controversy surrounding the final instalment so I want to complete the series before I get rid of the series from my book shelves.
What are you all planning on reading this month? Have you set an ambitious tbr pile too?
